I can't decide which is my favorite, the sowing or the harvesting...hmmmm....Well, I can tell you after the first taste of this tangy chard there was a clear winner.
We brought in two baskets full of these beautiful leaves, washed and chopped chopped them. In a smoking-hot iron skillet went olive oil, minced garlic, chopped onions and the bright red ribs. After just a couple of minutes we added the leaves, salt and red pepper flakes. Then we wait a couple of minutes more and viola! a taste of the garden I love so dearly.
Does life get any better?
