Memory Bowl

Recently I was contacted by a friend of mine. There had been a death in her family and she was seeking what I refer to as a Memory Bowl to, well, remember him by.  I have made this type of bowl with receiving blankets, old aprons, and even pajama pants to serve as a comforting reminder of a child all grown up or someone special that for one reason or another can't be near us as often as we would like.
For this particular order, I was mailed 4 flannel button-front shirts and have begun molding them into useful reminders of this family member.  Here are some photos of the first out of two.
If you have a need for a memory bowl, you can contact me by e-mail earthmamahyde@yahoo.com or search for Paisley Peace on facebook.

  3. I just discovered your blog and added it right away to my list of homeschool families!
I really like your bowls too, and I am wondering if you have a tutorial or something that I could use to try to make our own ourselves?
    Thanks!

  4. Alex,

First of all, thank you, you're sweet! I have never posted a tutorial. It's just single crochet spiral pattern. I just use cloth strips and a bigger hook!
